  The Maryborough Family Heritage Institute occupys the whole ground floor of this lovingly restored building, at the corner of Wharf and Richmond streets, in the heart of the Maryborough, the Heritage City of Queensland.
  The institute offers very comfortable research
facilities, with air conditioning for your comfort, helpful advice, and room to move.
  Extensive records are held, covering the Immigrant passengers into Queensland.
  Cemetery and Burial records for a number of Queensland areas.
              
 
While in the area, one can soak up the atmosphere of the early days in what was the hub of the developing town.
  The Wharf Street precinct is steeped in History, with the Bond Store Museum and the Old Warehouse Gallery occupying one of the oldest buildings in the area, while opposite the Institute is the Customhouse Hotel, complete with Ghost stories and an Opium Den!
The ARIADNE was the first ship to bring a full compliment of Immigrants to Maryborough.

Research room open Monday to Friday
9am to 4pm, as well as  Saturday afternoon 1 to4.
Thursday evening by app.

A series of books have been written about  some of the ships that brought the settlers to Maryborough, which include the passenger lists, usually the logistics of the ship, anecdotes about the families, and some include excerpts from diaries written by passengers.
These books range in price from $20 to $25 and are available from
